What is your idea of perfect happiness?
A beautiful early fall day, the leaves have just started to turn, sitting by the water, nobody else around, working on a story.
Surrounded by friends and family, loads of liquor and delicious foods, immersed in intriguing conversations as plenty of laughter filters through the air around us.

What is your greatest fear?
On a massive scale, global warming.  
On a more personal note, swimming in a body of water of which I cannot see the bottom.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Chocolate dipped in a hunk of peanut butter.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Dorothy Parker.

Which living person do you most admire?
Elie Wiesel.

Severe embellishment.

What is your most marked characteristic?
I may be a bit stubborn.

On what occasion do you lie?
Rarely.  Only when the truth would have done more harm than good.

Do you know? ...Here's the thing ...Stunning ...Swimmingly.

What is your greatest regret?
I probably should have lived in NY city for a couple of years when I was in my early twenties.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?
I've been lucky.  I've had a handful of great loves.  Some of whom I've actually met.

What is your favorite journey?
A deep running, pot-holed country road.

When and where were you the happiest?
There was this one night in California; small coastal town, top of a cliff, bottle of wine and some dancing. I was pretty happy then.

Which talent would you most like to have?
The ability to remember that in a past life I was a vaudeville dancer in Paris in the roaring 20's.  And, one of Picasso's lovers/muse.

What is your current state of mind?

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I'd make my big toe actually BE my big toe.

If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be?

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I hope it hasn't happened yet.

What is your most treasured possession?
My memories and a couple of scars.

What do you regard as the lowest depths of misery?
The inability to forgive. 

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what do you think it would be?
I'd go back in time and come back as Hemmingway's hand.  Not for those reasons (gutter-minded people), but because he knew how to pick up a pen and a drink.

What is the quality you most like in a man?
Passion, intellect, humour, a floor stomping dance partner, and his ability to return a phone call.  Not necessarily in that order.

What is the quality that you most like in a woman?
Friendship, and an overflowing tolerance for laughter and liquor.  Definitely in that order.

Jean Auel, Paulo Coelho, Bob Dylan, Eminem, Vedder, Cash, F. Scott Fitzgerald, John Irving, Sylvia Plath, Ayn Rand.

Stephen Lewis.

Caged animals, the color yellow, and Walmart.
